Melting point is about 40-44℃, boiling point under reduced pressure (about 10 mmHg) is 96-98℃. It has a β-diketone structure and can form stable chelates with various metal ions.
Uses:Mainly used as an extractant for metal ions, especially for the extraction and separation of actinides such as uranium and thorium and rare earth elements. Also used in nuclear fuel reprocessing, as an organic synthesis intermediate, and as a chelatometric indicator in analytical chemistry.
