Uses:Commonly used as an acid-base indicator, prepared as a 0.04% aqueous solution for titrimetric analysis. Also used as a visualization reagent in thin-layer chromatography, a tracking dye for protein electrophoresis, and for detection of metal ions such as mercury and lead.
