Melting point approx. -65°C, boiling point 39.5-40.1°C, relative density 1.487 (20°C), flash point -3°C (closed cup), soluble in organic solvents such as diethyl ether and ethyl acetate.
Uses:Mainly used as a trifluoroacetylating reagent in organic synthesis to introduce trifluoroacetyl groups into molecules, for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes and fine chemicals; also used as a dehydrating agent and esterification promoter.
