Uses:It is an α-adrenergic receptor agonist and is used as a nasal decongestant. It is mainly used to relieve nasal mucosal congestion and stuffiness associated with acute/chronic rhinitis, sinusitis and allergic rhinitis, and is also used as a component in cold medicines to alleviate nasal discomfort.
