It has low viscosity at room temperature and is soluble in organic solvents such as toluene, ethyl acetate, and acetone. It readily reacts with compounds containing active hydrogen, such as alcohols and amines, and slowly releases carbon dioxide when in contact with water.
Uses:Used as an isocyanate monomer in polyurethane synthesis, mainly for the production of light-stable and weather-resistant polyurethane coatings, elastomers, adhesives, and sealants. It can also be used as a raw material for waterborne polyurethane and polyurethane curing agents.
