Uses:Furosemide is a potent loop diuretic that produces diuresis by inhibiting the Na+-K+-2Cl- transport system in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle. It is clinically used for the treatment of cardiogenic edema, renal edema, hepatic edema, and hypertension.
