Physical Properties:White or almost white crystalline powder, odorless, with a slightly sweet then bitter taste. Melting point about 171-173°C. Freely soluble in water, sparingly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. Discolors on exposure to light.
Uses:Primarily used as a first-line antituberculosis agent for the treatment of tuberculosis. It may be combined with other antituberculosis drugs to delay the emergence of drug resistance.
