Easily soluble in organic solvents such as isopropanol, ethanol, benzene and toluene; rapidly hydrolyzes in water to form aluminum hydroxide and isopropanol. Exhibits good chemical stability in anhydrous environments. Melting point 128-132°C, boiling point 138-148°C (1.33kPa), aluminum content 12.5-13.5%.
Uses:Used as a reducing catalyst and pharmaceutical intermediate in organic synthesis for the preparation of high value-added chemicals such as pharmaceuticals, fragrances and flavors. As a precursor for advanced new materials, it is used to produce high-purity alumina, pseudo-boehmite and alumina sol for lithium battery separator coatings, catalyst supports, adsorbent materials, LED ceramic substrates and precision polishing powders. Also employed as an aluminate coupling agent, paint thickener, fabric water repellent and lubricating grease thickener.
