Melting point 130-140°C (industrial grade melting point ≥88.5°C), boiling point 359.4°C at 760 mmHg, flash point 162.4°C, relative density 1.07, refractive index 1.45 (25°C). Insoluble in water, ethanol and ether; decomposes in dilute acids.
Uses:Used as a heat stabilizer for PVC; used in cosmetics for face powder and emollient ointments, and as an excipient and lubricant in pharmaceutical tablets. Also used as a transparent flatting agent in paints, and widely applied in food, coatings, plastics, rubber, textile and other industries.
