Uses:Mainly used as an organic synthesis intermediate, solvent and humectant. In the food industry, it serves as an emulsifier and moisture-retaining agent (E1520). In cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, it acts as a solvent, wetting agent and carrier. It is also used in the production of unsaturated polyester resins and antifreeze.
