Uses:Used as an organic synthesis intermediate, mainly for the preparation of 2,2-dimethylbutyric acid and its derivatives. Employed in the pharmaceutical industry for side-chain structural modification of specific drug molecules. Also acts as an acylating agent in agrochemical and fine chemical applications, and is used in the production of polymerization initiators.
