Uses:It is used as an acidity regulator, flavoring agent and stabilizer in the food industry; as an anticoagulant, expectorant and diuretic in the pharmaceutical industry; and as a non-toxic builder replacing sodium tripolyphosphate in the detergent industry. It is also used as a chelating agent in electroplating, brewing, injections, photographic chemicals and concrete retarders.
