Physical Properties:It appears as a pale yellow to white waxy solid or pasty mass with a faint fatty odor. With increasing ethylene oxide adduct number, its hydrophilicity increases; it can be dispersed in water to form colloidal solutions and is soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, ethyl acetate and other organic solvents. Melting point range is approximately 40–60°C and flash point is above 100°C. It is chemically stable, resistant to acids and alkalis, mild to the skin, and exhibits excellent emulsifying, wetting and solubilizing properties.
Uses:Mainly used as a non-ionic emulsifier, emollient and solubilizer in cosmetics and personal care products, suitable for creams, lotions, facial cleansers, sunscreens and hair care products. It is also used as a softening agent and fatliquoring auxiliary in the textile and leather industries to improve the hand feel and flexibility of fibers and leather.
