Physical Properties:Microcrystalline wax is a milk-white granular solid, odorless and tasteless, with a compact structure, hard and smooth texture, good adhesion, ductility and oil-absorptive capacity, and is not brittle at low temperatures. Relative density 0.89-0.92, melting point 60-95°C, refractive index 1.435-1.445, kinematic viscosity (99°C) 9.2-25.0 mm²/s, molecular weight 580-700. It is insoluble in water and cold ethanol, soluble in ether, benzene, chloroform and other organic solvents; it can form stable and uniform pastes with various solvents and waxes, and has emulsifying properties.
Uses:Used as a chewing gum base, protective coating, glazing agent and defoamer in food, as well as for wax coating, moisture-proof, oil-proof and anti-sticking treatment of food packaging paper. Widely used as a processing aid for shoe polish, car wax, polishing wax, floor wax, furniture polish, candles, wax paper, protective coatings for traditional Chinese medicine pills and dental materials. In cosmetics, it is used as an oil-phase raw material for cold cream, lipstick and hair wax, and can replace imported equivalent waxes to reduce cost.
