Uses:Butoconazole is an imidazole antifungal agent that exerts its antifungal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane. It is primarily used topically for the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis and exhibits good inhibitory activity against dermatophytes and Candida species. It is usually formulated as butoconazole nitrate cream or vaginal suppositories.
