Physical Properties:White crystalline granules or white powder, odorless, salty taste, freely soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, aqueous solution is weakly alkaline. Stable in air, loses water of crystallization when heated to 150°C (anhydrous form has no water), melts and decomposes above 300°C. The pH of a 5% aqueous solution is about 7.6~8.6.
Uses:Used as an acidity regulator, buffering agent and chelating agent in the food industry for beverages, jams, meat products, etc.; used as an anticoagulant in the pharmaceutical field to prevent blood clotting; used as a builder and complexing agent in daily chemical products such as detergents and cosmetics; also applied in electroplating, printing and dyeing industries.
