Boiling point 196 °C at atmospheric pressure or 75-78 °C at 1333.2 Pa; relative density 0.928-0.941 at 25 °C; refractive index 1.469-1.475; flash point 70 °C; acid value <5.0. Insoluble in water; soluble in ethanol, non-volatile oils, and 2-4 volumes of 70% ethanol. Stable in most media, but turns pale yellow in soap media at pH≈9.
