Physical Properties:Colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid, ranging from low-viscosity to high-viscosity fluid depending on molecular weight. Relative density is approximately 0.97–1.00 g/cm³, refractive index about 1.400–1.410. Insoluble in water, soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones and esters. It exhibits excellent high- and low-temperature resistance, electrical insulation and chemical stability, with terminal vinyl groups capable of participating in addition reactions.
Uses:Mainly used as the base polymer for addition-curing liquid silicone rubber, which can be crosslinked with hydrogen-containing silicones in the presence of a platinum catalyst. It is also used in the preparation of silicone gels, release coatings, silicone sealants and modified polymer materials.
