It appears as a light yellow to brown oily liquid or pasty solid at room temperature, insoluble in water, and soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone and toluene.
Uses:Used to produce soaps, detergents, lubricants, paints, coatings, cosmetics and rubber additives. It is also used as an intermediate in the textile, leather and metalworking industries.
