Physical Properties:Clear light yellow liquid with a slight alcoholic odor. It is a partially hydrolyzed oligomeric siloxane containing both reactive epoxy groups and silanol groups. Soluble in alcohols, ketones, esters and other organic solvents; insoluble in water. It can further condense under acid or base catalysis to form a crosslinked network.
Uses:Used as a precursor for organic-inorganic hybrid materials, widely applied in coatings, adhesives and sealants. Through reaction of epoxy groups with resin matrices, it improves crosslink density, adhesion and weatherability while significantly reducing water absorption. It also serves as a hindered amine antioxidant to enhance thermal-oxidative stability of polymers.
