Physical Properties:Colorless to light yellow transparent liquid, odorless, insoluble in water, soluble in toluene, hexane, isopropanol and other organic solvents. It has low surface tension and good flexibility. The molecular chain contains reactive Si-H bonds at both ends, which can react with compounds containing vinyl or allyl groups via hydrosilylation reaction. Typical density is 0.95-0.98 g/cm³ (25°C), refractive index is 1.398-1.405, flash point is greater than 100°C.

Uses:Used in silicone modification reactions, as an intermediate in hydrosilylation reactions, cross-linked with vinyl-containing siloxanes or olefinic compounds to prepare block copolymers, addition-cure silicone rubber and silicone sealants. Also used as a hydrophobic treatment agent for glass, paper and metal surfaces, as well as a release agent and isolating agent for precision materials.
