Physical Properties:Dark yellow uniform powder; soluble in water giving a yellow solution; slightly soluble in ethanol; insoluble in benzene, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents. It has substantivity for cellulose fibers. Lightfastness is good; shade may change slightly in the presence of copper and iron ions.
Uses:Mainly used for dyeing and printing of cellulose fibers such as cotton, linen and viscose, as well as for coloring paper and leather. It can be used alone or in combination with other direct dyes, and a cationic fixing treatment is recommended after dyeing to improve wet fastness.
