Uses:Artemether is a semisynthetic derivative of artemisinin and a highly effective, low-toxicity antimalarial agent. It exhibits excellent therapeutic efficacy against both falciparum malaria and vivax malaria, especially for chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium infections. With stronger antimalarial activity than artemisinin, it rapidly kills the erythrocytic stage of the parasite, and is also used clinically for toxoplasmosis and parasitic infections in animals.
