Sensitive to light, heat and oxygen, should be stored sealed in dark. Commercial forms include microencapsulated powder and oil suspension; the powder has good flowability and dispersibility in water, while the oil suspension is viscous but flowable.
Uses:It is a precursor of vitamin A, serving both as a nutritional fortifier and a colorant. Widely used as a yellow colorant and nutrient additive in margarine, noodles, pastries, beverages, health foods and feed. It can improve stability when combined with vitamin C in fruit juices, and for oily foods it can be dissolved in edible oil or used as a suspension preparation.
