Physical Properties:White amorphous powder, odorless and tasteless. Insoluble in water, ethanol and most organic solvents; decomposable or soluble in strong acids and strong alkalis. It has a porous structure, large specific surface area, good thermal stability, and useful adsorption and dispersion properties.
Uses:In coatings, it can partially replace titanium dioxide (up to about 30-40%) to improve hiding power, dispersibility, leveling and anti-sagging; in satin coatings, it acts as an economical matting agent. In printing inks, it prevents settling and show-through, improving print clarity and color strength. In textile printing pastes, it provides thickening and thixotropy, increases whiteness and improves smoothness. In papermaking, it serves as a special filler; in adhesives and silicone rubber, it acts as a reinforcing functional filler; in industrial powders, it is used as an anti-caking agent to improve flowability and storage stability.
