Soluble in benzene, ether and other organic solvents; decomposes in water, releasing hydrogen chloride.
Uses:Used in the manufacture of organosilicon polymers (silicone oils, silicone rubbers, silicone resins); it is an important monomer for producing polydimethylsiloxane, and also used as an intermediate for silane coupling agents and other organosilicon compounds.
