- 常温下为无色气体或淡黄色液体，有强刺激性气味。熔点2.3℃，沸点17.5℃，温度很低时呈白色固体。溶于苯等多种有机溶剂。遇水迅速水解生成氟化氢（HF）和三氧化钨，在潮湿空气中强烈冒烟。化学性质活泼，是一种强氟化剂，几乎能与所有金属（除金和铂）反应，但镍和不锈钢可抗其腐蚀；干燥状态时对玻璃腐蚀较弱，湿气中能迅速反应。与气态氨反应强烈，能被氨水或碱吸收，与碱金属氟化物可形成复盐，与离子型卤化物反应形成配位化合物。高温下可被氢还原为钨。有毒，其毒性与氟相似。

Physical Properties:At room temperature, it is a colorless gas or pale yellow liquid with a strong irritating odor. Melting point 2.3°C, boiling point 17.5°C, and it becomes a white solid at very low temperatures. It is soluble in various organic solvents such as benzene. It hydrolyzes rapidly in water to form hydrogen fluoride (HF) and tungsten trioxide, fuming strongly in moist air. It is chemically active and acts as a strong fluorinating agent, reacting with almost all metals except gold and platinum; nickel and stainless steel can resist its corrosion. In the dry state it is only slightly corrosive to glass, but reacts rapidly in moisture. It reacts vigorously with gaseous ammonia, can be absorbed by ammonia water or alkali, forms double salts with alkali metal fluorides, and reacts with ionic halides to form coordination compounds. It can be reduced to tungsten by hydrogen at high temperatures. It is toxic, with toxicity similar to that of fluorine.
Uses:Tungsten hexafluoride is mainly used in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes in the semiconductor industry to produce tungsten thin films, serving as conductive interconnect layers, contact layers, and diffusion barrier layers in integrated circuits. In addition, it is also used as a fluorinating agent for metallic tungsten and as a fluorinating agent for synthesizing organic fluorine-containing compounds.
