Physical Properties:White powder, slightly soluble in water. Molecular weight 221.96. TG1% decomposition temperature ≥300°C. During combustion, PO· radicals are released, which scavenge active intermediates such as HO· and H·, inhibiting the radical chain reaction and reducing combustion intensity. Meanwhile, thermal degradation produces aluminium phosphate and aluminium pyrophosphate, promoting dehydration and char formation of materials to form a dense char layer, providing condensed-phase flame retardancy.
Uses:Used as a halogen-free flame retardant for polyolefins, elastomers, thermosetting resins, coatings, adhesives and other materials; can partially substitute aluminium diethylphosphinate in some applications. It can be compounded with MCA, MPP, ADP, magnesium hydroxide, aluminium hydroxide and other flame retardants to achieve synergistic effects.
