Physical Properties:Violet-red crystalline solid, readily soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, efflorescent in dry air; the aqueous solution is purple and becomes green upon hydrolysis when heated to 50-70°C. Density approx. 1.83 g/cm³, melting point approx. 89°C (loss of water of crystallization).
Uses:Mainly used in leather tanning, as a mordant in the dyeing and printing industry, and also in the production of chromium complex dyes, as well as in ceramics, photographic fixing, oil drilling and other industries.
