Uses:As an aromatic sulfonated intermediate, it is widely used in the synthesis of azo dyes, reactive dyes and acid dyes. It serves as an aromatic amine sulfonating reagent in organic synthesis and is also employed in the preparation of fluorescent brighteners and pharmaceutical intermediates. Due to its good water solubility, it is additionally used as an analytical reagent for metal ion complexation colorimetry.
