Physical Properties:Colorless or slightly yellow liquid with a characteristic sharp, cool eucalyptus aroma and a camphor-like, medicinal note; it has a spicy and cooling taste with a strong but not lasting fragrance. Relative density: 0.895-0.920, refractive index: 1.458-1.468, flash point: 50°C. Almost insoluble in water; soluble in ethanol, absolute ethanol, oils and fats; soluble in 70% ethanol. Phellandrene test: negative. This product is obtained by steam distillation from the leaves and twigs of blue gum, eucalyptus, camphor trees and Cinnamomum camphora, followed by refining.
Uses:Widely used in pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics and chemical industries. Used as a fragrance ingredient in daily flavors and medicinal perfumes; used as a raw material in pharmaceutical preparations with expectorant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities; used for flavoring mouthwashes, candies and beverages in the food industry.
