Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ether, chloroform and benzene. Chemically inert and stable. Relative density (20°C) approx. 0.84–0.91, boiling range approx. 300–400°C, flash point (closed cup) ≥130°C, resistant to oxidation. Store in airtight containers protected from light.
Uses:Widely used in daily chemicals, rubber, machinery, textile, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. In daily chemical products it serves as an oily base for skin creams and hair oils; in the rubber industry it acts as a softener, and in the machinery industry as a lubricant base oil and rust-preventive oil; in the pharmaceutical field it is used as an ointment base and pharmaceutical excipient.
