Uses:Dexamethasone palmitate is a prodrug of the glucocorticoid anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone. It is hydrolyzed in vivo to slowly release dexamethasone, exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effects. It is used clinically to treat inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma and allergic dermatitis. Its strong lipophilicity makes it suitable for formulation as lipid emulsions, ointments or injections.
