It is stable in acidic and neutral media and hydrolyzes readily under strongly alkaline conditions.
Uses:Imazethapyr is an imidazolinone selective herbicide that inhibits acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS/ALS), blocking the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine). It exhibits both pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicidal activity and is used in soybean, peanut and other crop fields for pre-plant soil application or post-emergence foliar spray to control annual and perennial grass weeds and broadleaf weeds. It features a broad weed control spectrum, long residual activity, and low use rates.
