Slightly soluble in water (about 1.1 g/L), soluble in acetone, ethanol, xylene and other organic solvents. Stable under acidic or alkaline conditions; slowly decomposes upon light exposure.
Uses:Clomazone is a selective herbicide used mainly in soybean, peanut, rice and sugarcane fields to control annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds. It inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis, causing bleaching and death of young shoots; it shows limited efficacy on emerged weeds.
