Physical Properties:White or off-white powder or granules, odorless and tasteless, soluble in cold water to form a transparent colloidal solution, insoluble in ethanol, acetone and other organic solvents. It has excellent thickening, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming, water-retention and adhesive properties.
Uses:Widely used as a thickener, water-retention agent and binder in construction mortar, putty powder and latex paint; also used in coatings, inks, ceramics, textiles and daily chemicals as a film-forming agent, emulsifier and suspension stabilizer.
