Physical Properties:Density 1.05 g/cm³, light ivory in color, opaque, non-toxic and odorless. It exhibits balanced toughness, hardness and rigidity with excellent mechanical properties, high impact strength, good dimensional stability, excellent electrical properties and good wear resistance. It is highly hygroscopic and must be thoroughly dried before molding; parts requiring a glossy surface should be pre-dried at 80-90℃ for 3 hours. The thermal decomposition temperature is above 270℃. It burns slowly with a yellow flame and black smoke; after burning, the plastic softens and chars, emitting a characteristic cinnamon odor without molten dripping.
Uses:ABS is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene, with excellent comprehensive properties, and is one of the largest-volume and most widely used engineering plastics. It is suitable for manufacturing general mechanical parts, wear-reducing and wear-resistant parts, transmission parts and telecommunication parts, and can also be made into various decorative plastic parts through chromium plating, spray painting or two-color molding processes.
