Physical Properties:Produced by gas-phase polymerization with propylene as the main raw material and ethylene as comonomer, using a high-activity catalyst at 62–80°C and below 4.0 MPa. The resulting polypropylene pellets have a density of 0.90–0.91 g/cm³, making them the lightest among general-purpose plastics. It exhibits excellent mechanical properties and heat resistance, with a service temperature range of -30°C to 140°C. It also has outstanding electrical insulation and chemical stability, is almost non-hygroscopic, and does not react with most chemicals. It is corrosion-resistant, with a tensile strength of 30 MPa, and its strength, rigidity, and transparency are superior to those of polyethylene.
Uses:Suitable for making general mechanical parts, corrosion-resistant parts, and insulating parts. Common products include basins, buckets, furniture, films, woven bags, bottle caps, and car bumpers.
