Physical Properties:White or light yellow translucent granular solid; odorless and non-toxic. It exhibits excellent flexibility, elasticity and low-temperature toughness, as well as good environmental stress cracking resistance, ozone resistance, weathering resistance and chemical resistance. It is stable against acids, alkalis, oils and seawater. Its closed-cell foam structure imparts low moisture absorption, water resistance, sound insulation and thermal insulation. It is soluble in aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents but insoluble in water. Performance varies with vinyl acetate (VA) content; higher VA content improves flexibility and elasticity while reducing strength and rigidity.
Uses:It is widely used in foamed shoe materials, packaging films, hot-melt adhesives, cable sheathing and photovoltaic cell encapsulation films. Foamed products exhibit softness, elasticity, shock absorption, thermal insulation and sound insulation, making them suitable for cushioning materials, sport mats, toys and sealing parts. It can also be blended with polyethylene and other resins to improve toughness, flexibility and weather resistance.
