Physical Properties:Nylon 6 has a melting point of 220-230 °C, while nylon 66 has a melting point of 260-270 °C. Due to the water-absorbing groups in the molecular chain, nylon is hygroscopic and must be dried before molding; however, drying at excessively high temperatures can cause the pellets to discolor. The material exhibits high tensile strength, excellent toughness and impact resistance, good self-lubrication, wear resistance and chemical resistance, outstanding low-temperature performance, and self-extinguishing characteristics. Conductive nylon 66 also provides good wear resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance and chemical resistance, significantly reduces water absorption and shrinkage, and offers excellent dimensional stability and mechanical strength. It meets electrostatic dissipation (ESD) and electrostatic discharge protection requirements.
