Physical Properties:Mechanical properties are calculated from the force-indentation depth curve without the need for microscopic observation of the indentation area. It supports scratch testing (with acoustic emission, scratch displacement, friction sensors and video microscopy) and continuous stiffness mode, enabling hardness variation with indentation depth to be obtained.
Uses:Used to test the adhesion strength of thin films or coatings, study wear or removal mechanisms of materials, and is widely applied in the measurement of hardness, elastic modulus, toughness, coating strength, and fracture toughness.
Technical Specifications:
Samples should be cylindrical or square, with a diameter of 3-30 mm and a height of 0-10 mm.
The top and bottom surfaces of the sample must be parallel, and the test surface should be polished with no visible scratches.
Thin film samples require proper preparation; irregular or undersized samples need to be mounted in hard resin and polished.
Standard hardness/modulus testing provides 5 data points; for hardness of 25-30 GPa, 5 data points per sample; for hardness of 30-35 GPa, 3 data points per sample.
