Physical Properties:White to pale yellow granules; density about 1.12~1.15 g/cm³; melting point 215~225°C. It has strong hygroscopicity, with an equilibrium moisture absorption of about 2.5%~3.5% in air and a saturated water absorption of about 9%. It is soluble in strongly polar solvents such as concentrated formic acid, phenol and m-cresol, but insoluble in common alcohols, ketones and hydrocarbons. The unfilled molding shrinkage is about 1.0%~1.5%, which can be reduced to about 0.3% by adding glass fiber.
Uses:It is suitable for electronic and electrical components such as connectors, bobbin winders, timers, breaker covers and switch housings; automotive structural parts such as cooling fans, door handles, fuel tank caps, grilles, radiator grilles and lamp sockets; and industrial parts such as chair frames, bicycle rims, skateboard bases, textile shuttles, pedals and pulleys. With glass fiber reinforcement or flame-retardant modification, it can be used in applications requiring high strength, heat resistance and dimensional stability.
