Physical Properties:PA6 has similar chemical and physical properties to polyamide 66, with a lower melting point (about 220°C) and a wide processing temperature range (230-280°C). It has excellent mechanical strength, stiffness, toughness, wear resistance, weather resistance, and good electrical insulation. Its impact resistance and solvent resistance are better than polyamide 66, but it is more hygroscopic. Density is about 1.12-1.14 g/cm³. The shrinkage of unreinforced PA6 is 1%-1.5%, which can be reduced to about 0.3% with glass fiber reinforcement. It easily absorbs moisture, which affects dimensional stability and electrical properties; the shrinkage of molded assemblies is mainly affected by crystallinity and moisture absorption.
Uses:It is used for manufacturing automotive interior and exterior parts, mechanical structural parts, and maintainable parts, as well as complex structural molding and thin-wall micro injection molded parts. In the electronic and electrical field, it can be used for equipment that withstands wave soldering. Adding modifiers such as glass fiber, EPDM, and SBR can improve mechanical properties or impact resistance.
