Physical Properties:PA612 is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyamide produced by polycondensation of hexamethylenediamine and dodecanedioic acid, with a repeat unit molecular weight of about 310. It has a density of approximately 1.06 g/cm³ and a melting point of about 210–218 °C, with a heat deflection temperature of approximately 60–70 °C (at 1.82 MPa). Its moisture absorption is much lower than that of PA6 and PA66, with a 24-hour water absorption of about 0.4% and a saturated water absorption of approximately 3%, resulting in excellent dimensional stability and electrical insulation. It also features good chemical resistance, low friction coefficient, and excellent wear and impact resistance.
Uses:PA612 is widely used in automotive parts (such as fuel lines, connectors, sensor housings), electrical and electronic components (cable ties, connectors, relay parts), and industrial consumer goods (brush filaments, monofilaments, films, tubing), especially in precision parts requiring low moisture absorption, dimensional stability, and good electrical insulation.
