Physical Properties:Ultramid A3EG6 is a 30% glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide 66 (PA66), a semi-crystalline material with a melting point of 252°C. It maintains high strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures. It is hygroscopic after molding; the degree of moisture absorption depends on material composition, wall thickness and environmental conditions, with an equilibrium water absorption of 2%–5%. It has low viscosity and good flow (slightly less than PA6), suitable for thin-wall parts, and its viscosity is sensitive to temperature. Mold shrinkage is 1%–2%, and can be reduced to 0.2%–1% with glass fiber reinforcement; the difference between flow and cross-flow shrinkage is relatively large. It resists acids, alkalis, most inorganic salt solutions, halogenated hydrocarbons, hydrocarbons, esters and ketones, but is easily soluble in polar solvents such as phenol and formic acid. It has excellent wear resistance and self-lubrication and high mechanical strength, but relatively high water absorption and poorer dimensional stability. Density is 1.15 g/cm³, brittle temperature is -30°C, thermal decomposition temperature is above 350°C, and continuous heat resistance is 80–120°C.
