Physical Properties:PBT 4830 is a milky white, translucent to opaque crystalline thermoplastic polyester. Density approx. 1.31 g/cm³, melting point 225–235°C, crystallinity up to 40%. It has low water absorption of only about 0.1% and maintains electrical insulation in humid environments. Resistant to hot water, alkalis, acids and oils, but susceptible to halogenated hydrocarbons and hydrolysis. It features high heat resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance, dimensional stability, self-lubrication, low friction coefficient and good weather resistance.
Uses:It is mainly used in automotive, electronic/electrical, industrial machinery, and polymer alloy/blend industries. In automotive applications, it is used for distributors, body parts, ignition coil bobbins, insulating covers, exhaust system components and motorcycle igniters. In electronic/electrical applications, it is used for TV deflection yokes, CRT and potentiometer supports, audio output transformer bobbins, adapter bobbins, switches and connectors, as well as motor end caps and bushings for electric fans, refrigerators and washing machines.
