Physical Properties:Typical density is approximately 0.870–0.890 g/cm³. It has a narrow molecular weight distribution, good flowability and good compatibility with polyolefins. The side octyl group is longer than the side ethyl group, forming junction points in the molecular structure that act as linkages and buffers between components; upon impact, it helps disperse and buffer impact energy, reducing the chance of crazes developing into cracks and thereby improving impact strength and elongation at break. Adding it increases the melt index of the system, but when the addition exceeds 15 parts, the melt index remains essentially unchanged; tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural modulus decrease with increasing addition.
Uses:Mainly used for toughening modification of PP, PE and PA, including automotive bumpers, fenders, steering wheels, pads and other parts. It is used in the wire and cable industry for insulation and jackets requiring high heat resistance and environmental resistance, as well as in hoses, conveyor belts, rubberized fabric, molded products, medical devices, household appliances, sporting goods, toys and packaging films. It is especially suitable for low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant compounds, cosmetic and food hoses, foamed sports shoe midsoles and outsoles, flame-retardant masterbatch, stretch film, wrapping film and cling film.
