Homopolymer PP is brittle above 0°C; commercial materials are typically random copolymers containing 1-4% ethylene or block copolymers with higher ethylene content, providing significantly improved impact strength. Density is about 0.89-0.91 g/cm³, Vicat softening temperature around 150°C, with good surface stiffness and scratch resistance, and virtually no environmental stress cracking.
Uses:General-purpose PP rod is widely used for manufacturing corrosion-resistant chemical equipment, pipes, valves, seals, and machined parts, as well as heat- and acid-resistant components in electronics, medical, and food processing industries.
