Physical Properties:Translucent colorless solid, odorless and non-toxic, mainly composed of isotactic polymer with an isotacticity of about 95%, the remainder being atactic or syndiotactic polypropylene. It has a regular structure and high crystallinity, with a melting point up to 167°C and a Vicat softening temperature of 150°C. It is heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant, and products can be sterilized by steam. Its density is low, making it the lightest general-purpose plastic. The surface stiffness and scratch resistance are excellent, and it exhibits no environmental stress cracking. Disadvantages include poor low-temperature impact resistance and relatively easy aging, which can be overcome through modification. The melt mass flow rate (MFR) is typically 1–100, and the shrinkage is generally 1.6–2.0%.
Uses:Suitable for general injection molding, food-grade packaging, automotive parts, pipes, electronic and electrical components, sports equipment, home appliance parts, wire and cable, and power tool accessories.
