Physical Properties:PPO is a non-crystalline engineering plastic with a density of approximately 1.06 g/cm³, a melting point of 268°C, and a heat deflection temperature of up to 190°C. It tends to decompose when heated above 330°C. The water absorption rate is about 0.06%. It is lightweight and non-toxic, has good flame retardancy with self-extinguishing properties, and exhibits medium flammability when blended with HIPS. It has poor light resistance and tends to discolor under prolonged sunlight exposure. The melt flowability is relatively poor, the viscosity is sensitive to temperature, and the typical molding temperature is 280-330°C for PPO and 260-285°C for modified PPO.
Uses:PPO is suitable for manufacturing heat-resistant parts, insulating parts, wear-reducing and wear-resistant parts, transmission parts, as well as medical and electronic components. It can replace stainless steel for gears, fan blades, valves and other parts used at elevated temperatures. It is widely applied in electrical and electronic equipment, automotive, household appliances, office equipment and industrial machinery, including automotive instrument panels, radiator grilles, speaker grilles, consoles, fuse boxes, relay boxes, connectors, as well as components for televisions, cameras, air conditioners, rice cookers, and exterior parts for copiers, printers and other office devices.
